Illinois Elementary School

Home of the Wolves

Our Mission

Our History, Mission, & Vision

A group of three children are standing in front of a sign that says "We're Back to School".Illinois School re-opended in 2000 as a Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth grade building that enrolled students throughout Matteson Elementary School District 162 by a lottery selection process.  With an emphasis on best practices in education, Illinois School eventually grew to include grades sixth through eighth.

Built on the premise of active home and community volunteerism, Illinois School continues to strive for full parental participation.  Under the vision of Dr. Blondean Davis, Illinois School added a primary wing, beautiful library and commons, and a Technology Lab. Today, Illinois School continues its rich history of academic excellence and parental volunteerism to make us the premier elementary school in the south suburbs.

Our Mission

The mission of Illinois School is to involve family, community and school personnel in a team effort to prepare children to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in a diverse, ever-changing world.

Our Vision

The vision of Illinois School is that all students can and will learn in a safe, positive learning environment with teachers that possess high expectations and provide rigorous and challenging instruction that will prepare them for the 21st Century - in college, career and beyond.
